Here, Pedro discovered the inspiration and foundations for a fusion cuisine between Portugal and Japan. It was not long before he achieved the title of Head Chef of Midori restaurant and Executive Sous Chef of the entire resort.
Visit: 24 November 2017, dinner for two.
Review: We stayed at the Ritz Carlton Penha Longa hotel in November 2017. There are a range of great restaurants at the resort, and one of the best is the Midori Japanese Restaurant.
Midori is the oldest Japanese restaurant in Portugal. The food is modern Japanese, but with a Portuguese influence.
The experience was excellent. The food was fabulous, the restaurant had been recently renovated and is very modern with great views, and the service knowledgeable and friendly. The dishes have great combinations with interesting textures and there are lots of taste surprises. There is an extensive sake list. I will definitely return!
There were 3 menu choices: Menu Midori had 7 courses, Menu Chisai had 9 courses and Menu Ookii had 11 courses. We went for the Chisai menu.
