We returned to The Boat Inn for the Sunday lunch (see my previous review). The Beef Wellington and Chateaubriand were both excellent and I would definitely recommend them. The wine list has some good choices and the wine is reasonably priced. The service is attentive and friendly.
It was the best Sunday lunch I’ve had for a long time. This restaurant is going places, and it is definitely worth a visit!
The Food:
The Wine:
With the starters we chose an excellent Veiga da Princesa, Castelo do Mar Albarino, 2017 from Rias Baixas, Northwest Spain. This white wine scores 3.7 / 5 on Vivino. It has citrus, apple and apricot notes, and has some minerality. It is very crisp and refreshing and matched our starters very well:
With the beef we chose a Clos Ventas, Terrasses du Larzac, 2015 from France. This Languedoc-Roussillion red wine scores 3.9 / 5 on Vivino. It is made from Grenache, Mourvedre, and Shiraz/Syrah grapes. It has cassis, blackberry and ripe raspberries notes and was a perfect accompaniment to the beef:
